ECONOMIC STUDY FORUM: MEANS OF BUILDING COMMUNICATION FOR LECTURERS AND STUDENTS OF ECONOMIC EDUCATION STUDY PROGRAM

Tuesday (28/4), the Economic Education Student Association (HMPE) of the Faculty of Economics, Yogyakarta State University (FE UNY) held an Economic Study Forum (FSE). This forum was held in the friendly room of the Faculty of Economics. This event is one of the annual work programs for Research and Development (RITBANG) of HMPE FE UNY. The study forum on this occasion received a lot of appreciation from students of the Faculty of Economics, especially students of Economics Education, this was seen by the large number of participants who participated.

This time the Economic Study Forum carries the theme "Creating Quality and Reliable Economic Education Graduates in Facing the World of Work in the Globalization Era" by presenting a resource person from the Head of the Department of Economics Education FE UNY Daru Wahyuni ​​SEMSi. and Ali Muhson M.Pd Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics. The two speakers on this occasion seem to have the same view in seeing competition in this era of globalization. Mr. Ali Muhson explained about how tight competition in the world of work will be faced by S1 graduates. He shows a comparison of data on the number of job seekers and job vacancies that are not balanced. At the end of his presentation, he emphasized that it is better for university graduates not to become job seekers but to become Job Creators.

Meanwhile, the second speaker was Daru Wahyuni ​​SEMSi. explained how important it is to improve the quality of university graduates in order to be able to compete in the world of work in the MEA era. In his material, he supported the presentation of the first speaker that in this era, students must change their mindset. Students must be able to become entrepreneurs by taking advantage of existing opportunities.

The event starts at 12.40-15.10 WIB. In addition to the presentation of the material from the speakers, a question and answer session was also provided by the participants. With the "Economic Studies Forum" event, it is hoped that it can encourage the motivation of students of the Faculty of Economics to compete in the era of globalization. (Windu/Desta)
